Library Hours - Winter
(January 3 - February 7)
The physical Library is temporarily closed in response to COVID-19. Please learn about online services available.
Unfortunately, during the Library's COVID-19 closure, physical items are unavailable for checkout. Please review our guide to Library Services During Coronavirus Closure for the latest information. We encourage you to explore ebooks available from EBSCO, digital resources through OneSearch, or any of the databases on our A-Z list. Remember: off-campus access to Library resources requires a library login (formerly known as UIA). If you don't know yours, review this guide.
Library materials circulate to students enrolled in the current semester and to college employees.
For students, books in our General Collection may be checked out for a month, and most textbooks on reserve can be borrowed for two hours at a time. The Library also loans laptops, tablets, DVDs, and CDs. More detailed information about our circulation policies can be found on our Policies page.
All students must present a valid ID card to borrow library materials. LAVC ID cards can be obtained from the College's Admissions Office.
The Library does not issue individual cards to students.
College employees must complete a LAVC Library Card Application and show a valid LACCD employee ID card and a photo ID in order to obtain a library card.
LAVC alumni may gain borrowing privileges by donating of $25 or more to the Library Endowment, which is administered through the LAVC Foundation. Donate here.
