When accessing Library resources from off-campus, you may encounter login screens with the LAVC Library logo and/or the Microsoft logo.
Read below for instructions on logging into both. Additionally, instructional videos can be found by clicking on the Login Videos tab at the top of this guide.
Still having trouble? Please email us at ref@lavc.libanswers.com and an LAVC librarian will respond no later than the next business day (during the hours posted on our website). In your email, make sure to tell us exactly what you are using for your username and password.
If you see a login screen like the one below, then you will need to use your Library Login.
For students:
Your username is the beginning of your LACCD email address (everything before the "@student.laccd.edu" part), and your password is your four digit date of birth (month month day day). Example: if your birthday is April 9, then your password is 0409.
Don't know your username/LACCD email? Log into the Student Information System to locate your email address. (For instructions, read this FAQ: https://lavc.libanswers.com/faq/291760)
For faculty/staff:
Faculty and staff can now log in with the same LAVC Credentials you use for your office computer and wi-fi on campus (which are different from how you log into your work email, Canvas, etc.). If you do not recall your LAVC Credentials, or your credentials don't work, please follow-up with IT: LAVC-TechSupport@laccd.edu
The second way of signing in goes through a Microsoft sign-in page that looks like the image below. If you know your LACCD student email address, you can enter it there. If you don't know it, that's OK. You can write in anything for your email address, as long as you have "@laccd.edu" as the second part (see example below):
Once at the LACCD SSO page, erase the login and replace with your Student ID number or, for employees, the first part of your email address along with your (Canvas) password and sign in.
If you are on your own private computer, go ahead and stay logged in. If you are on a public computer, choose the option to not remain logged in.
