Click above to reach a librarian by chat (real-time, 24/7) or email. LAVC librarians will be available via email at ref@lavc.libanswers.com during fall business hours (Monday - Thursday, 9-12 and 1-7; Fridays, 9-12 and 1-5).
Some content in this guide was repurposed from the Foothill College Library's guide Library Support for Online Teaching. Thanks, Foothill Library!
Although the physical Library is closed, LAVC librarians are still providing remote research assistance and online access to a great variety of research materials (try OneSearch or choose a database from our A-Z list). Librarians will be available via email (ref@lavc.libanswers.com) during business hours (which can be found on our Ask A Librarian webpage). We're also offering 24/7 real-time chat service to help faculty, students, and staff find what they need.
To access Library resources remotely, faculty and staff can now log in with the same LAVC Credentials you use for your office computer and wi-fi on campus (which are different from how you log into your work email, Canvas, etc.) If you have previously requested a library login from us, it should continue to work.
Library logins for students are generated automatically. Please share these instructions with your students for access to Library resources from home.
Meghan Cason - Digital Resources, OER, Reference, and Instruction
Alex Chappell - Cataloging, Systems, Reference, and Instruction
Cynthia Cohen - Instruction and Reference
Mike FitzGerald - Instruction and Reference
