Research Guides & Course Guides

Authored by LAVC librarians, Research Guides and Subject Guides are self-contained, instructional "how-tos" that focus on library- and research-related topics. Users access these asynchronous, multimedia guides online and navigate through a series of pages/tabs as they explore the content.

Research Guides focus on general topics like "How to find books," "How to find articles," and "How to cite your sources," while Subject Guides incorporate information specific to a particular discipline or research assignment from your class. Please use the links below to look at examples of each.

As always, feel free to embed any of our pre-existing Research/Course Guides directly into your Canvas shell today!

And, if you're interested in the LAVC Library creating an original Course Guide for your class, please reach out to us at ref@lavc.libanswers.com so we can begin discussing specifics.
